Things to Do and See in Tanzania

Tanzania is a stunningly beautiful country on the east coast of Africa. This country is home to some of the most amazing wildlife, as well as many sites that are gems of natural beauty. Our Affordable Tanzania Safari takes us up mountain slopes, around vast lakes, and down into craters filled with wildlife. There are so many natural adventures to be had in Tanzania, and our tour offers you the best that the country has to offer!

Our 11-day-long tour starts in Arusha. Following a sumptuous breakfast, we head to a small village on the slopes of Mt. Meru, where we visit a local school and get an immersive experience of the local culture. You can then enjoy a traditional Tanzanian lunch at a family home before heading into the forest in search of a black and white Colobus monkey, as well as other indigenous species.

From Mt. Meru, we head to Lake Manyara, which is home to unique birdlife like pelicans, storks, and even flamingos! Additionally, there is a hippo pool where wild hippos live. The next stop is Lake Eyasi in the Great Rift Valley. This part of the trip is like turning back time because the native Hadza people are hunter-gatherers who still live an ancient way of life.

From Lake Eyasi we head into the Ngorongoro Crater, which is a natural amphitheater that was created from a collapsed volcano. This crater is home to some of Africa’s richest wildlife, such as lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, and a variety of lovely birdlife.  Here we will enjoy a lunchtime picnic, then take a safari walk around the crater rim.

From Ngorongoro, we head to the Serengeti National Park, which is known for its annual wildebeest migration. It is also home to diverse wildlife such as cheetahs, zebras, elephants, buffalos, and gazelles. We will see the Olduvai Gorge (The Cradle of Mankind) along the way, and then explore Serengeti for a few days, taking drives throughout the park.
