Ghana Wildlife Safari, 4 Days

DAY 1: ARRIVE ACCRA, GHANA.

Upon arrival in Accra, you will be met, assisted, and transferred to your hotel. Other activities today will depend on your arrival time and preference.

DAY 2: ACCRA | TAMALE | MOLE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Tamale, accompanied by your tour guide. Upon arrival in Tamale, enjoy a brief orientation tour of the township before continuing northward to Mole National Park. En route, visit the historic Larabanga community, home to the Larabanga Mosque—the oldest mosque in Ghana and one of the oldest in West Africa, often referred to as the “Mecca of West Africa.” You will also see the famed Mystic Stone and learn about the rich history and cultural significance of this remarkable heritage site. Continue onward to Mole National Park for check-in. After settling in, take time to relax and refresh with a swim in the pool, offering stunning views over the surrounding African savannah and wilderness.

DAY 3: MOLE & MOGNORI

Embark on an early morning game drive safari in Mole National Park and experience one of Ghana’s finest wildlife encounters. This once-in-a-lifetime safari offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing in the cool hours of the morning. Mole is renowned for its rich biodiversity, including over 200 bird species, colorful butterflies, and fascinating reptiles.

Accompanied by an experienced and knowledgeable safari guide, look out for African bush elephants, African buffalo, olive baboons, hyenas, red-flanked duikers, roan antelopes, warthogs, vervet monkeys, hartebeests, and bushbucks in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for a well-deserved breakfast.

Later in the day, depart for Mognori Eco-Village, located approximately 15 km from the park. Enjoy a guided community walk, a vibrant drumming and dance performance, or opt for a peaceful canoe safari along the Mole River. You will also learn about the traditional collection of shea nuts and the process of transforming them into high-quality organic shea butter, as well as the important livelihood opportunities this creates for women in the community.

Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, relaxing by the lodge’s pool overlooking the park’s waterhole, where you may enjoy a refreshing swim while observing wildlife from a distance.

DAY 4: MOLE | TAMALE | DEPART ACCRA

After breakfast, enjoy a leisurely morning by the pool, taking in the panoramic views of Mole National Park. From this vantage point, you may be fortunate to spot African elephants and other wildlife as they move through the park. After lunch, transfer to the airport for your mid-day flight back to Accra. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your accommodation (at own expense).
