Start early heading south to Dougga, one of North Africa’s best preserved Roman sites. You will walk through the ancient theatre, Capitol, and check out the intricate mosaics scattered around. This day is travel as you transition from ochre Sahara back to the Mediterranean coast. You will leave early from Tataouine and drive northeast through Gafsa and Gabes, watching the landscape shift from desert to sea. After lunch near the coast, head to Sidi Bou Said, a charming village known for whitewashed buildings and blue accents.
