  1. Day 1 Bamako to Teriyabugu

    Three hour drive to Ségou former colonial administrative center. Visit Sékoro village, the former capital of the Bambara kingdom where you will see the tomb of King Biton Coulibaly, the mosque that is older than the village and visit the mosque that King Biton built for his mother. Admire the beautiful Sudanese-style colonial architecture. See and experience how to make a traditional mud cloth.  Visit the pottery market, and see traditional weavers and other artisans.
    Depart SĂ©gou for a 1 hour drive to Teriya Bugu, “the hut of friendship,” and the headquarters of the Association for Rural Development. The center is surrounded by thousands of eucalyptus plants, orchards, fisheries and a farm which supplies fresh food to its restaurant. Two beekeepers tend to 140 hives to produce honey.

  2. Day 2 Teriyabugu to Bamako

    After breakfast we have a morning excursion to the small village of N’Goron for fishing accompanied by the locals. This is a truly authentic experience! Once back, the tour leader of Teriya Bugu will take us for a relaxing walk through mango trees and banana plants, watch birds, and see monkeys, camels, horses, crocodiles, peacocks and other wildlife in the on-site mini zoo. We will learn about the project’s history with Priest Bernard Verspieren and a Somono Fisher, Lamine Samaké. You will discover how this project is supporting hundreds of families. After visits, drive back to Bamako.
