Day 2 CAIRO / EGYPTIAN MUSEUM / ALABASTER MOSQUE & KHAN EL-KHALILI BAZAAR | | After breakfast, you will drive through the streets of Cairo, on your way to the Egyptian Museum of antiquities for a guided tour of its amazing collection of artifacts from Ancient Egypt dating back to 5000 BC. Some of the collections are golden items of the tomb of the young king Tut-Ankh-Amen and the preserved mummies room that are 4 thousand years old. You will also get some free time to take pictures at the museum.
In the afternoon, you will visit the famous Citadel of Saladin (the Hero in the Kingdom of Heaven) and the Amazing and Gigantic Alabaster-Mosque of Muhammad Ali to explore the History of Islam and the Crusaders in the middle ages.
In late afternoon; you will visit the Khan El Khalili Bazar, dated back to the 10th Century; where you will stroll through the bazaar and see artisans at work. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight at Intercontinental pyramids park Or Similar ^back to top |
Day 3 CAIRO / PYRAMIDS & SPHINX / MEMPHIS / SAQQARA | | After breakfast, we will visit the Giza Plateau to see pyramids and The Great Sphinx, which dates back to 3000 B.C.
After lunch, we will continue to Memphis, capital of the pharaohs during the Old Kingdom to see the statue of Ramesses II and the 80-ton alabaster sphinx. We will also go to Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid which has preserved murals of the afterlife and the daily life in Ancient Egypt.
Transfer to the train station in the evening to catch the sleeper train to Luxor.

Day 4 CAIRO / LUXOR / VALLEY OF THE KINGS / VALLEY OF QUEENS / KARNAK / CAIRO | | We will start our tour of Luxor upon arrival by crossing the West Bank of the Nile to visit the wondrous Valley of the Kings, where the magnificent tombs of 62 pharaohs were discovered.
These tombs are carved deep into the desert mountains; they are richly decorated and filled with treasures of the pharaohs afterlife. We will also visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut; the beautiful monument that represents the reign of the only female pharaoh rises out of the desert plain in a series of terraces and merges with the sheer limestone cliffs that surround it. We will also stop at the famed Colossi of Memnon, a thousand ton statues of Amenhotep III; this statue was known by the ancient Greeks to emit haunting voices at dawn. After lunch, visit the Karnak Temple, which is the largest place of worship ever built. This complex was built over two thousand years by generation after generation of pharaohs. We will return to Cairo by sleep car in evening.

Day 5 CAIRO / ALEXANDRIA / THE CATACOMBS / THE FORTRESS / GRAECO-ROMAN MUSEUM / CAIRO | | Day at leisure;
