Tanzania Adventure Safari 9-days

Day 1

ARRIVE IN ARUSHA
International flight arrives in Kilimanjaro. You will be transferred to Arusha, where you will be met, assisted and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2

MT. MERU
Our adventure begins with a full day of wildlife viewing on vehicle and on foot in the grasslands and forests around Mt. Meru. The ancient volcanic landscape is home to giraffe, elephant, buffalo, gazelle, leopard, and more. Within the lush forests we may find the elegant black and white Colobus monkey. Return to the lodge at days end.

Day 3

TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Depart after breakfast across the Maasai Steppe to Tarangire National Park. We'll search for huge elephant herds in the forest along the river, witness zebra racing across meadows, a lioness stalking her prey, playful baboons scampering up baobab trees, and much more.

Day 4

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast at the Lodge, drive to Tanzania’s famous Serengeti Park. Its unique combination of diverse habitats enables it to support more than 30 species of large herbivores and nearly 500 species of birds. You will explore the scene of the great migration where millions of wildebeest and zebra make their annual trek in search of fresh grass.

Day 5

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Here you will discover the Africa of your imagination - the massive Serengeti; 5,600 square miles of endless plains dotted by rock kopjes and flat-topped acacias. Along the journey, you will encounter steadily increasing numbers of wildlife. You will see an astonishing variety of animals including leopard, wildebeest, lion, zebra, gazelle, cheetah, antelope, hyena, impala, giraffe, ostrich and warthog, along with many of the 500-odd species of birds.

Day 6

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, depart for game viewing at the Serengeti. Its wildlife sanctuary, beauty and scientific value draws visitors, naturalists and photographers. It’s the spectacular bush adventure. You will visit the Olduvai Gorge, where you will see the Gorge Museum, which details the Leakey family's findings.

Day 7

NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA
After breakfast, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Highlands, wildlife viewing as you go. You will have an opportunity to spot the “Big Five”, the buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion and the rhinoceros. The diversity and number of animals will astound you.

Day 8

NGORONGORO CRATER
After breakfast, depart for a game drive on the crater floor where you experience the ‘lost world” of Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is dubbed the "eighth wonder of the world where the air is cool and the landscape grows green and mystical. Your first view is breathtaking but can't compare to a day of game viewing down on the 2,000 foot deep crater floor. Picnic lunch may be served.

Day 9

FLY TO ARUSHA/DEPARTURE
After breakfast, a dramatic drive to the Rift Valley Escarpment wall brings you to the Manyara airstrip from where you fly to Arusha. Enjoy a farewell lunch. Day rooms are provided to refresh and relax before your early evening transfer to the airport.
