Ghana
is well known for its friendly people. You will receive a warm greeting of "Akwaaba"
(welcome) from locals when you arrive and throughout your visit.
There is a
lot to see and do in Ghana, and there is something for everyone. Visit historic
forts and castles, explore the rainforest, learn traditional
drumming and dancing, watch birds, butterflies and monkeys in their natural habitat, interact with locals, shop for traditional arts and crafts, see spectacular waterfalls, or do it all.
Weather & Climate
The temperature is fairly consistent throughout the year in Ghana, ranging
from about 70° F in the evening to 90° F during the day. The coastal
region has two rainy seasons, one peaking in May or June and one in October.
The northern region has one rainy season starting in May or June.

The time in
Ghana is GMT + 0 (four hours ahead of EST, or seven hours ahead of PST).
Accommodation
In terms of accommodation, Ghana offers everything
from camping, to modest two star economy hotels, to four star luxury resorts. Palace Travel tours typically include three star accommodation or best available, however clients may request downgrades or upgrades.
Language
The official language of Ghana is English, which makes it an excellent place to visit for first time English speaking travelers. Several local languages such as Twi are also spoken.
Entry Requirements
All visitors are required to have
a passport and visa. Yellow fever vaccination is required, and anti-malaria
tablets are recommended.
Safety
Ghana is a fairly safe country for foreign travelers. A little common sense goes a long way, as it does in any major city in the U.S.. All of our clients are accompanied by a driver and/or guide at all times outside of their hotel (unless they request to travel alone).
