Arrive Accra, meet assist and transfer to Hotel. This evening there is orientation which includes a discussion on Ghanaian history and culture. After breakfast drive to Kumasi, The Capital of the Ashanti Kingdom. Stop at Aburi Botanical Gardens overlooking the coastal plain at an elevation of 1,200 – 1,500 ft. above sea levellearn about the cultural and medicinal importance of the trees in these gardens. Full day Tour of Kumasi visit Manhiya Palace, which remains in use by the Asantehene (the ruler of the Ashanti people) today and houses a small historical museum. At Manhyia Palace, disputes are still settled in accordance with centuries-old customs where the King has the final word. In the afternoon visit the Okomfo Anokye Sword, an important symbol of Ashanti unity that marks the spot where the Golden Stool descended from the sky and has been in place for 300 years. Visit Ashanti craft villages. Learn how the talented craftsmen fashion royal stools, walking sticks and fertility dolls from wood. Observe up close the creation of the adinkra cloth which is worn for funerals and other solemn occasions. Later visit Bonfire, where you will discover how the kente weavers create the famous kente cloth, which is handmade on looms in a time-honored tradition. After breakfast, depart Kumasi to Cape Coast. En-route, stop at Assin Manso, the burial site of two former slaves from the U. S. and Jamaica whose remains were re-interred in August 1998 during Ghana's first Emancipation Day Celebration. Visit the "Slave River" where captured Africans were washed before being confined in the Slave Castles to await shipment to the Americas and the Caribbean. After breakfast, your journey takes you to Cape Coast Castle, a restored UNESCO World Heritage site. Once the seat of the British Colonial administration, this castle is home to the infamous Door of No Return, one of the most vivid reminders of the colonists' slave trade. In the afternoon tour Elmina Castle, also a UNESCO World Heritage site built in 1482. This castle was the first European structure in sub-Saharan Africa.

Early morning drive to Kakum National Park, one of West Africa's surviving tropical rain forests. Extending over 360sq km, Kakum is the home to over 40 large mammals and 400 bird species as well as many species of butterflies, flora and fauna. The most popular attraction is the Canopy walkway, which is made up of seven bridges extending 330m, hanging 30m (100 feet) above the forest floor. Choose between a 2 km nature walk through this forest to discover the wide variety of exotic floral species and the medicinal values they offer, or take a walk on the canopy walkway.
