Gabon Wildlife Experience, 8 Days

Day 1 Arrive In Libreville/ Iguela

On arrival you will be met, assisted fast-tracked through immigration formalities .

You will then board a 45 minutes flight to Petit Loango National Park. At the small airstrip of Omboue, our Iguela Logde staff will welcome you and transfer you to the lodge.

Here you will refresh, relax, have dinner and prepare for the next day.

Day 2 Introduction To Loango National Park

After breakfast, your safari guide will take you by piroque (a traditional Gabonese boat) to the mouth of the Louri lagoon, where you can enjoy the beach, the breathtaking rainforest and its natural inhabitants.

After lunch travel on foot or by 4x4 to experience the abundant bird and wildlife. After diner, enjoy unforgettable ethnic dances and music.

Day 3 Megatrasect Track - Bush Circuit/ Loango National Park

After breakfast, (Dry Season/May - October) you will start the day early to explore one of the most beautiful , remote and untamed parts of Gabon. Our local guides will take you by boat to Akaka.

On your way to Akaka, you will experience the remoteness and unspoiled nature with an enormous diversity of birds, endangered animals and rare butterflies. After a barbeque lunch, your bush walk will start. . The walk includes parts of the very famous “Megatransect’, walked by Dr. Mike Fay (see National Geographic). (Wet Season/October -May)

Travel by 4x4 vehicle to Tassi Savana Camp which is close to the Gorilla Project of the Max Planck Institute where Gorilla and Chimpanzee families are habituated.

Day 4 St. Anne, Evengue: Gorilla Island

After a short 4x4 drive, you will be taken by boat to Mission St. Anne. At this gorgeous spot, you will discover one of Gustaf Eiffels towers.

In this very tranquil place, you will observe the famous missionary post and we have a short walk through the nearby bamboo forest.

We will have lunch at the small gorilla island called Evengue. Here you will observe a gorilla family ,meet with the scientists and learn about the gorilla rehabilation and conservation program.

Day 5 Lambarene: Albert Schweitzer

Today visit one of the most spectacular and historical places in Gabon, Lambarene, hometown of Albert Schweitzer. You will visit the hospital and experience the surroundings in which the Nobel Prize winner has worked for many years making history. Alternatively you may go eco-fishing , foot safari or visit the bird and bat island.

Day 6 Louri River

Today there is a foot safari to Louri where there is an abundance of birds and animals In the afternoon travel by boat to visit with the ‘Chef du Canton’, the governor of the jungle where his family lives in this most remote area.

Day 7 Libreville

After breakfast, transfer back to Libreville where you ill spend the rest of the day on a city tour visiting all poins of interest. Or fly to Sao Tome and Principe for a relaxing time on the beach of the least discovered islands of Africa.

Overnight at Hotel Monts De Cristal Libreville or Similar

Day 8 Departure

You may extend your stay in Libreville, fly to Sao Tome and Principe to relax on the beach of one of the least visited beach paradise in Africa or depart home with great memories.
