El-Salamlek Palace

Location

El Salamlek (Al Salamlek)Palace hotel is located on a hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in Montazah bay and the large Al Montazah garden with the grand Montazah Palace which often are used by the President of Egypt today for meetings with world leaders.

H.M. Khedive Abbas Helmi II got the Greek architect Dimitri Fabricious Pasha to build a hunting lodge for his mistress countess May-Torok von Szendro and the Salamlek Palace stood ready in 1892.

During the reign of H.M. King Fouad I ( son of H.M. Khedive Abbas Helmi II ) El-Salamlek served as a Royal Resort Palace and during the reign of H.M. King Fouad I it served as his summer office and a guesthouse for valuable guests. At Al-Khedive salon you should not be surprised if you are met by classical music from a string quartet.
