| Built on the site of the old Akagera Hotel, the lodge opened in 2003, and offers a range of activities for guests, including walks, game drives and game trails:
with more than a dozen species of antelope, some of the densest concentrations of water birds on the African continent and the impressive sight of massive crocodiles basking in the sun with their jaws agape, there is always plenty to see.
For those who would like to stay in, the lodge has fantastic views of Lake Ihema, with the pool on the edge of the savannah, tennis courts availale to guests and an indoor and outdoor bar and restaurant serving excellent buffet meals.
