Many birdwatchers find it useful to hire the services of a local bird guide. Most guides are based down at the coast. However, you will find that many of them actually originate from villages further inland and they are usually very keen to travel up-country to show you the areas most people miss. Beware! Not all "guides" can tell the difference between a long-tailed glossy starling and a village weaver, so do be careful who you chose. See our birdwatching section for more information and a list of recommended bird guides.
