| Description | | Palm Grove Hotel in The Gambia is one of the oldest hotels in this part of Africa, and now completely remodernised to European standards offering every modern convenience that the traveller could want, whilst surrounded by an unspoilt country that encapsulates all that is Africa.
The hotel is surrounded by tranquil walkways and delightful grounds which provide the visitor with a chance to just sit and listen to birds or else to relax and soak up the sun which always shines in Africa. There is a large swimming pool, encompassed by picturesque grounds, which have the much needed gentle cooling breeze coming in from the shore. Looking out over the sea is one of the dining rooms which offer the best in African and European cuisine. Taxis are available in front of the hotel every day til late at night. Prices are cheap, the hotel to Banjul 30 Dalasis, to the airport, 150 Dalasis. Bicycles can be hired in front of the hotel every day, 20 Dalasis per hour, 40 Dalasis for half a day and 70 for a full day.
