Ngala Lodge is without a doubt located on one of the most scenic spots along the African West Coast. The moment I saw it for the first time in 1995, I immediately fell in love with it (although it didn't look like it is now!). My imagination, hard work and creativity went into the making of a dream come true. Two years later I had something very special to offer you and today I love sharing my dream. ^back to top

Accommodation

10 suites with exclusive personal service. Penthouse suite ideal for honeymoon couples. We have seven suites and one penthouse. Each suite has bathrobes, slippers, a private balcony and most of them have a stunning view over the garden and the sea. Twin beds with mosquito net, mini bar, telephone, air conditioning, sitting area with sofa, easy chairs and coffee table. Bathroom with double hand wash basin, bath and / or shower, toilet, bidet, towels, hair dryer, bath robes and slippers. LODGE SUITES Originally a colonial Mansion, the suites are each uniquely furnished using a combination of local and imported art to create individual character. Each suite is comfortable and spacious, with many individual features and special touches designed to delight our guests. Lodge - Tower suite The Tower suite in the Lodge is located over two floors connected by a steep spiral staircase, with a private rooftop terrace with sunbeds and shower. It has a sitting room with sofa and easy chairs, and a beautiful view of the garden through large windows. The bedroom occupies the second floor and consists of twin / double bed, walk-in bathroom with bath, separate shower and toilet. Lying on the bed you can watch the stars through the glass dome above your head. The third floor terrace has magnificent views of the gardens and sea. You can relax on the terrace sunbeds, or cool off in the terrace shower. Room facilities: Twin beds, mini-bar, air-conditioning, mosquito nets, hairdryer, bathrobes, electronic safe, telephone, UK 3 pin sockets, toiletries. Lodge - First floor (4 suites) Suites on the first floor have their own big balcony with sea views, and include sunbeds, garden table & chairs. The junior suite have the same facilities but is slightly smaller. Amenities & Services

Just imagine getting up in the morning with already a beautiful sunshine and being able to start enjoying your day with breakfast in our restaurant overlooking the garden and the sea. Birds are always close and at sea there is always something going on, while in the kitchen Marie (our morning chef) prepares your breakfast according to your wishes. At lunchtime, you are spoiled with a fine selection of snacks. The sea breeze will cool you down while you eat. In the evening you will meet our chef Peter and his staff who are ready to dazzle you with exquisite food and drinks. Peter does wonders every day with a different menu and the A La Carte menu is equally delicious and changed frequently. On our wine list you will find the best French and South African wines available in The Gambia. In our beautiful tropical garden you will always find a nice spot in the shade or the sunshine to relax, read or enjoy the view and the countless colourful birds. Our staff will serve you cool drinks, make sure your sun beds are where you want them and they will provide you with towels and umbrellas. When you feel for a swim, there is our swimming pool and an easy access to our private beach. ^back to top

Our restaurant is located on a cliff top, with panoramic views spanning lush tropical gardens and the ocean lapping the shore below. The chef owner Peter and his wife Jojo have created the rare combination of quality food, stunning ambience, with their unique informal style. Activities & Facilities

Magnificient cliff top setting. Our beautiful tropical gardens provide the perfect environment to relax, read or enjoy the view in the presence of countless tropical birds. Our staff will serve you wherever you are relaxing in the extensive gardens. When you feel ready for a refreshing swim, you can dive into the hotel pool or take a dip in the ocean below. This is not to mention the beautiful view of the sun setting across the Atlantic Ocean every evening, which can be accompanied by a sundowner in the bar. ^back to top
